Rich, smoky, and spicy Red Salsa — perfect for tacos, eggs, or dipping!
Ingredients
- 2 Roma tomatoes
- 3–4 cloves garlic, peeled
- ¼ white onion
- 4 California chilis, deseeded
- 5–10 chili arbol, deseeded (for milder spice)
- Optional: 1 jalapeño or serrano for extra heat
- Salt, to taste
- Chicken bouillon, to taste
Instructions
- Prep: Peel and deseed chilis as needed. Cut onion into quarters and peel garlic.
- Boil: Bring a pot of water to a boil. Add tomatoes, garlic, onion, California chilis, and chili arbol. Boil 5–10 minutes, until tomato skin starts to peel.
- Blend: Transfer ingredients to a blender. Add optional jalapeño or serrano for extra heat. Season with salt and chicken bouillon to taste. Pulse until you reach your desired consistency.
- Serve: Use immediately or store in the fridge for later!
