Ingredients
- 2.5 lbs milanesa beef (top round, eye of round, sirloin, or flank)
- 1/8 cup orange juice
- 3/8 cup lime juice
- 3/4 cup soy sauce
- 1.5 tsp onion powder
- 1.5 tsp garlic powder
- 2 1/4 tsp paprika
- 3/4 tsp black pepper
- 2 1/4 tsp sugar
- 1.5 tsp cumin
- 1.5 tsp oregano
- 1 large white onion
- 5 cloves garlic
- Chopped onions and cilantro, for serving
- Tortillas
Instructions
- Make the marinade: In a bowl, combine orange juice, lime juice, soy sauce, onion powder, garlic powder, paprika, black pepper, sugar, cumin, and oregano. Mix well.
- Prepare aromatics: Slice the white onion into rings and mince the garlic.
- Layer and marinate: In a large bowl, layer onions, cilantro, and steak. Pour a portion of the marinade over the steak, then repeat layers until all ingredients are combined. Mix gently to coat evenly. Cover and refrigerate for 6 hours.
- Cook the steak: Heat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the steak 2–4 minutes per side, depending on thickness, until cooked through.
- Rest and serve: Let the steak rest for a few minutes. Chop into bite-sized pieces and serve with warm tortillas, onions, and cilantro.
